My 11 yr. old daughter actually picked this particular camp on her own after researching some others on line. She had never gone to an overnight camp before, so I was concerned about the camp she chose. After going on-line to review the camp’s website top to bottom, I was very impressed with my daughter. She couldn't have done a better job of choosing. Camp Lantern Creek emphasizes developing young girls into leaders by focusing on confidence and self-esteem through creative arts, as well as nurturing each girl’s strength within themselves. She was homesick at the beginning of her two week session, but on the drive home, looked so happy and enthusiastic about the counselors and the friends she had made, she asked if she could go next year for a month! There are many camps to chose from–and I’m sure many are very good overall, but I’m not so sure that most camps can match the caliber of counselors that CLC has. The owner and counselors are all exceptional role models not only because they are strong, smart women with fun personalities, but also because they make a conscious effort to convey and instill those attributes to the campers. My daughter can (and did) look up to all of them. That right there is worth every penny.” - Wowee - Houston, Texas - Trip Advisor
